Do you enjoy dressing up and getting candy during Halloween, eating a big Thanksgiving meal with your family, or getting presents on Christmas? These are a few examples of holidays. Do you have a favorite holiday? Well I do, and it’s Christmas. In this paper, I will explain three reasons why Christmas is my favorite holiday. My first reason is that during Christmas we get to celebrate Jesus’ birth and remember the promise of God sending his son to save us. I also enjoy doing the children’s service on Christmas eve. The second reason why I like Christmas is because I like getting presents from other people as well as giving presents to other people. I do really enjoy decorating the Christmas tree with my family too. My last reason is that there is snow during Christmas and I enjoy building things in the snow with my friends and family like a snow fort or snowman. I also get hot chocolate at my house when I come back in from building stuff. In summary the three reasons why Christmas is my favorite holiday are that we get to celebrate Jesus’ birth, I like giving and getting presents, and I like playing in the snow with my friends.

If you have ever considered getting chickens but never fully decided then let me tell me why you should say yes. I will give you reasons why you should get chickens. My first reason is that they can provide eggs daily as well as meat. You will most likely never have to go to the store to get eggs for things like scrambled eggs or baking goods. In the meantime they can help you make compost for your garden and act as pest control for your yard or garden. Which will result in having better looking grass and better quality produce. Lastly, chickens make very good companions because there are a lot of breeds that are very gentle and are overall very loving. For example, whenever I go out to check on them they always come to greet me at the gate. And there you have it, my top three reasons why you should get chickens. Well have you decided yet because I have!

Have you ever wondered what you wanted to be when you grew up? Do you want to be a teacher, a doctor, or do you have no idea what you want to be when you grow up? I am going to tell you about three jobs that are very interesting and unique that you may think about doing when you grow up.

What if I told you that you could get paid for something that you need to do every day? That job would be a food critic. Food critics go to restaurants and rate the experience of the food, service, the ambiance of the restaurant, and price of the restaurant. As they are eating at the restaurant they share their experience of the restaurant by writing about it to the public. They often write for newspapers or magazines. Sometimes they even compare the food they taste to other establishments they have visited. I think this would be a fun and unique job because I like to taste food and give back constructive criticism to the restaurant to help the restaurant improve the experience for other customers.

The next job is out of this world! You guessed it, it’s being an astronaut! You may have thought when you were a kid that you would want to be an astronaut as a kid. Astronauts do many things other than just riding in rockets. For example, they do scientific experiments or even collecting samples of moon rock. That can be possible but it is very hard. In 2017 a class of eighteen thousand and three hundred people applied but only 11 were selected to become astronauts! That still doesn’t mean that is impossible because if you try really hard and are really determined, you can be an astronaut. I would want to be an astronaut because I have always wanted to do something that very few people have done.

Do you like playing video games? Well if you do there is also a job that pays you for playing video games. That job is called a videogame tester. Video game testers test games that are in the initial stages of development. The testers help find bugs or glitches in the game before it will be available by the public. Although you will have to complete all stages and levels of the game which may be difficult at times. I think this is a fun and unique job I would want to do because I like playing video games.

These are three examples of fun and unique jobs that I may want to do and might interest you as well when you grow up. Have you changed your mind on what you want to do when you grow up and thought about choosing one of these jobs, or do you still want to do the job you had originally thought of? But there is no rush because there is still many more years until you need to decide.

Have you ever had your kid beg you and ask “Can I please have a puppy?”. Some people would allow their kid to have a puppy and some don’t. Here are several reasons why I think you should say yes to getting a puppy. The dog will help the kid learn to be more responsible, learn to manage time and money and be good for their overall health.

The first reason for getting a puppy is it will teach the kid to be much more responsible. They will first need to figure out what to feed them and how often or when to feed them so that the dog will not become hungry. The kid will also need to make sure the dog gets plenty of exercise by regularly walking the dog and playing with the dog. For example,  playing fetch at the park or playing a fun game like tug of war. The kid will also be required to learn to clean up after the dog and brush or wash the dog. The second reason is it teaches them how to manage their time and money. They would also need to set time aside to walk the dog and wash or clean the dog. As well as needing to learn to set aside money to pay or help pay for the dog’s food and vet checkups. They will have to figure out what to do with their dog if they go on a vacation where they can’t take their dog with them. Lastly, it will be good for the kids’ overall health. They will  get plenty of exercise when they walk their dog and play with their dog like playing fetch. They can make the kid feel happier if the kid feels sad. For example, whenever I am at a friend’s house and they have a dog it always makes me feel happier. If you go to get your dog from the humane society it can also be good for the dog because you are giving it a safe place to live.

So if you get asked if  you can have a dog you should say yes, because it is beneficial by helping the kid learn to be more responsible, to manage time and money and is good for their overall health. 

Board games are the best kind of games because they are fun, can create memories, and be educational. Board games are fun because they can be extremely entertaining for hours on end and will never become boring. For example, whenever I play Sorry with my family or friends we may finish about 3 rounds and I will still want to play more. Secondly, board games are beneficial because you can spend time with and create lasting memories with family and friends. Lastly, board games are educational and can help develop skills like strategy and even subjects like math. In Monopoly it is required that you pay the exact amount of money you owe another player or bank. You would then have to take into account that you only have a certain amount of some bills and might need to add up all of your various valued bills together to see if you have enough money. You can have fun, build lasting memories, and learn something, so ready to challenge me to a game of Connect 4?
